In order to make cam clearance maintenance-free and quieter operation sound, the hydraulic lash adjuster was adopted for the SR20 engine. However when aiming at higher RPM ranges and for higher horsepower output from engine modifications, it is important to improve the reliability of head system parts and to make valve drive train set correctly for the suited cam profile. So it is necessary to eliminate the use of the hydraulic lash adjusters. We have adopted the solid pivot system to enable adequate cam clearance adjustments while keeping total height of pivot of each cylinder fixed. Therefore it is possible to build a more precise head system in a shorter time compare to the other conventional methods. Improvements in the reliability and lower pricing were made possible at the same time by having reduced the number of parts required.<\/p>\n
